Modern Game Boxes Brighten Tabletops

By Glenn Guzzo

If you have ordered a complete Strat-O-Matic Baseball or Strat-O-Matic Pro Football board game lately, you have received it in a colorful new game box that is part of the game company’s new brand image.

If it’s been awhile since you updated your game parts, it may be a great time to replace a box with torn corners or to complete your collection of all things Strat-O-Matic.

The green-as-outfield-grass baseball box features a live pitcher in motion, replacing the old graphic image. The regal blue pro football box features a game-ready player, helmet in hand, replacing the game photos on the old box.

Both display the new brand in the upper left:

These are the first Strat-O-Matic game boxes that prominently display the company Web site at www.strat-o-matic.com.

Not all is new. The pitch that has sold fans on Strat-O-Matic for nearly half a century is still prominent:

“Manage Major League Players who hit, pitch, field and run as they do in real life.”

“Coach Pro Football Players who actually pass, run, kick and play defense as they do in real life.”

Strat-O-Matic Baseball, promoted on the box as “The Game that made it to the Baseball Hall of Fame,” is advertised for ages 9 to adult. Pro Football is advertised for ages 11 to adult.

Eventually, the hockey and basketball game boxes also will be redesigned, but the game company has not announced dates for their development.
