Version 9 Computer Hockey Features

HOCKEY V9 NEW FEATURES

1) Depth Chart Line Promotion Strategy – This new feature allows you to define how substitutes are used to fill in for missing players via the Depth Chart. Each team now has a setting in their computer manager that allows them to define whether or not to use a "promotion" strategy with their lines. This strategy promotes players from lower ranked lines upwards to fill in for the missing player.

2) Automatic Trades – Support has been added for Automatic Trades. There is a new screen that allows you to add trade transactions. This will allow your replay to follow along with the real-life trades.

3) Support for new Faceoff rule – Starting with the 2008-09 season the rules state the faceoff at the beginning of a powerplay takes place in the shorthanded team’s zone.

4) Game Lobby Buddy Lists & Private Messaging – Private messaging and Buddy Lists have been added to the Game Lobby.

5) Game Lobby Challenge – A "Challenge" feature has been added to the Game Lobby allowing you to issue a challenge for a game to the community. Anytime users log into the Game Lobby they will see your challenge and can respond to it if they wish to take you up on it.

6) Game Lobby Sounds – We now support separate sounds to indicate the following events in the Game Lobby: Arrival of a gamer in the lobby, arrival of a buddy in the lobby, arrival of an opponent in your game room, arrival of a private message, announcement of a new challenge. You can use our supplied sounds for these events or define your own sounds.

7) Player Rest – The player rest logic has been improved so that no longer will players be rested in game two of the season like before. The new formula should spread player rest throughout the season in a more realistic pattern.

8) Support for New Seasons – Support for the 1960-61, 1971-72 and 2008-09 seasons has been added to the game.

BUGS FIXED IN HOCKEY V9
1) Crashes & other problems caused by certain antivirus software which reported false positive/quarantine have been corrected. There was nothing wrong with our original DLLs, however the antivirus was falsely reporting them as "generic!artemis" (this is a common problem affecting other programs, not just ours).
