3-Minute Baseball: 1978 AL East tie-breaker game

In 1978, New York and Boston squared off in a one game American League East tie-breaker for the right to move on to the postseason. Boston jumped out to a 2-0 lead until the light-hitting Bucky Dent shocked the world and put New York up by one with a 3-run homer in the 7th inning off starter Mike Torrez. The Bronx Bombers would ultimately hold on, winning the game 5-4, leaving Boston fans shaking their heads wondering what could have been.

This week’s 3-Minute Baseball revisits this all-time classic… can Bucky Dent go yard once more for New York versus their arch rival?
