1946 Baseball Season Roster

  • Speed kills: Slaughter’s Game 7 dash decides the World Series
  • Cardinals dispatch Dodgers in first NL playoff
  • The stars return from World War II

World War II was over and it was like the stars had never left. MVPs Ted Williams (.342-38-123) and Stan Musial (.365, 50 doubles, 20 triples) led the Red Sox and Cardinals into the World Series. It was Williams’ only World Series and Musial’s last. Bob Feller won 26 and K’d 348. The excitement continued through Series Game 7, when Enos Slaughter scored the winning run from first base on a two-out single.
