Milwaukee hit more homers than any team, by far. St. Louis hit the fewest – 149 less than the 216 by the Brew Crew of MVP Robin Yount, Gorman Thomas and Cecil Cooper. That got Milwaukee its first division title, one game better than Baltimore.  The slower Brewers won their first World Series game in St. Louis but lost the next three Busch Stadium's artificial turf.
