2010-11 Basketball Cards & Additional Players

  • Mav-o-lous: Dallas wins first title, shaming favored Miami
  • MVP Derrick Rose leads Chicago to NBA-best 62 wins
  • Leaders: Durant (points), Love (rebounds), Nash (assists)

The LeBron James-Dywane Wade-Chris Bosh dynasty in Miami was postponed for at least a year. The Heat won 58 regular-season games (only third best behind Chicago and San Antonio) and advanced to the NBA finals, but Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and Jason Terry earned the crown for Dallas. It was a great NBA season, with nine 50-win teams, including LA with Kobe Bryant, Oklahoma City with top scorer Kevin Durant, Orlando with Dwight Howard and Boston with Rajon Rondo, who had the top per-game averages for assists and steals. Clipper Blake Griffin’s nightly dunkathon earned him Rookie of the Year honors.

Strat-O-Matic basketball card sets have 12 players per team. Injuries and performance force almost all NBA teams to use more than that. The extra players are here. Some are role players who filled in when regulars were hurt. But this set also includes stars who played considerably less than a full season because of injuries.
