2010-11 Hockey Season Roster

  • Boston captures its first Stanley Cup since 1972
  • Vancouver wins 50, comes with one win of first Cup
  • Corey Perry scores 50; Tim Thomas sets save-percentage record

A playoff season dominated by seven-game series finally was decided when the Boston Bruins gained the only road win in a seven-game finale with Vancouver. The Canucks, who led the NHL in scoring and in preventing goals while dominating the regular season with 117 points, could not secure their first Stanley Cup after taking a 2-0 series lead. Boston goalie Tim Thomas, who set an NHL season record with a .938 save percentage, then topped that with .940 in the playoffs, totally confounded the Canucks after that. Vancouver’s Daniel Sedin led the NHL with 104 points, MVP Corey Perry of Anaheim led with 50 goals and Detroit defenseman Nick Lidstrom won his seventh Norris Trophy.
