Texas was even tougher in 2010, taking the AL West by nine games and then dominating the Yankees in the playoffs. Led by MVP Hamilton’s league-leading batting average and OPS, four players hit 20+ home runs. Elvis Andrus continued being a 1 defensively and stole 32 bases. Texas also enjoyed even better pitching with the mid-season acquisition of Cliff Lee, who won four games in the regular season and dominated the first two rounds of the playoffs. C.J. Wilson also made a successful transition from closer to starting pitcher while Darren O’Day had a 2.03 ERA setting up AL Rookie of the Year Neftali Feliz.
