Not enough to overcome the NL’s second-worst offense that had the lowest batting average (.237) and hit the fewest HR (91). Jesus Guzman (.312), Chase Headley (.289) and Cameron Maybin (40 SB) ignited the offense. Aaron Harang (14-7), Matt Latos (1.18 WHIP) and Heath Bell (43 saves) led a deep pitching staff.
