Seattle (67-95): Pitchers Felix Hernandez and rookie Michael Pineda provided most of the Mariners’ highlights. Closer Brandon League (37 saves, 2.79 ERA) and David Pauley (2.15 ERA, 0.994 WHIP) were strong in the ‘pen. But the offense was a weakling. Even Ichiro Suzuki slumped to .272 (but with 40 SB) in the lowest run-scoring offense in the majors. Hope arrived in 2B Dustin Ackley (.273 BA, .766 OPS) and Mike Carp (.276 BA, .791 OPS). C Miguel Olivo had 19 HR.
