Full Summary

There never has been a more dramatic NFL season. Almost six of every 10 games were decided by one score – the most ever. The outcome: Six of the eight divisions had new winners, including Dallas, which went from worst in the NFC East last year to first this year, its first division title in nine years thanks to dynamic rookies – 1,600-yard runner Ezekiel Elliott  and veteran-cool QB Dak Prescott.

The exception was 14-2 New England, which won its division for a record eighth straight season and then won a historic Super Bowl comeback, when the Patriots overcame a 28-3 deficit to Atlanta to win its fifth Super Bowl in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era. The 11-5 Falcons settled for laurels as the league’s highest-scoring offense (33.8 points per game) with the league’s top passer, Matt Ryan.

Other superstar performances: Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers led with 40 TD passes. New Orleans’ Drew Brees led with 5,208 yards passing. Minnesota’ Sam Bradford set the NFL record by completing 71.6% of his passes. Detroit’s Matthew Stafford set the record by leading eight four-quarter comeback wins … WRs Odell Beckham, Antonio Brown and Larry Fitzgerald each topped 100 receptions. Atlanta’s Vince Beasley led the NFL with 16 sacks.
