(in the Baseball section). The 10 finalists are 1915, 1919, 1924, 1938, 1939,
1946, 1947, 1949, 1951 and 1953. On March 6, the 1951 season had the lead after
the first 304 votes were cast. 1919, 1953 and 1924 (in that order) were still
in the race, with 1949 on the outside.
Still, ’51 had only about 23 percent of the vote, so its lead was shaky.
Note that this voting is for the
season SOM will release in January 2008. Strat-O-Matic’s Steve Barkan has
announced that a Super-Advanced update of 1971 will be the release for 2007.
