ADDITIONAL FEATURES IN VERSION 4 COLLEGE FOOTBALL

In addition to the features already announced, here is a list of improvements for the Version 4 of the College Football Game

1) College Player Names now Included! - We are shipping the 2007 college season with the player names included.  If you have purchased either the 2004, 2005 or 2006 seasons we will include a text file so that the player names for those files can be imported.

2) College Spread Offense - Support has been added for the College Spread Offense (College only - not available in the Pro game).  The Spread is starting to be used by more and more collegiate teams, so we’ve adjusted our rules to support it.  Since this is a specialty offense only teams that actually ran the spread will be rated to use it in our game.  We’re also including 5 Spread Offense computer managers to account for the wide diversity in Spread Offense styles.  See the Spread Offense Rules below for more details.

3) Team Notebooks - Team notebooks for the college game now display the team's Base Offense (Normal, Wishbone or Spread) and the Base Defense (3-4, 4-3 or 5-2).

4) Bug Fix – Fixed a display bug in the Game Startup screen that would cause team selection buttons to overlap the text box in the New Game section of the screen when the Launch New Game button was clicked.

5) Data Fix - Place-kicker Alex Serna (#13) from 2005 Oregon State had his field goal column changed so that the attempt from 1 to 2 yards is good on a roll of 2 to 11.

SPREAD OFFENSE RULES

The Spread Offense is supported for College as of the 2007 season.  The spread offense (college only) will be work this way:

a)      The Spread Offense can only be used by teams that are rated to run it (in other words, those teams that ran it in real-life).

b)      There are no QB End Run Limits for Spread Offense teams.

c)      Running backs are able to run off-tackle and end-run from the shotgun for Spread Offense teams.

d)      The Spread Offense can be used from a variety of formations.  It is not a separate formation (as the Wishbone is), but rather a slight variant of the existing formation that allows the team that utilizes it to operate normally from the shotgun.  Basically, anytime a team that is rated to run the Spread is operating out of the shotgun they will be considered to be in the Spread (and these rules will kick in).

Check the team notebook to determine if the team runs the Spread Offense (this is shown next Base Offense - it will say "Spread" for those teams).  Also, when a team is rated for the Spread Offense the check box that normally says "Shotgun" in the game's play selection area will instead say "Spread/Shotgun" to remind you that this team is a Spread Offense team.
