Strat-O-Charity: Pitch In For Baseball

Strat-O-Matic is proud to announce our official charity for 2014: Pitch In For Baseball.

Founded in 2005, Pitch In For Baseball® (PIFB) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides new and gently used baseball and softball equipment to boys and girls in the United States and around the world who want to play ball but lack the equipment to do so. Over the past eight years, PIFB has distributed more than $3 million worth of equipment to 200,000 kids in 75 countries worldwide and nearly every state within the U.S.  Former MLB All-Star Roy Smalley serves as the President of the organization.

We first learned about PIFB when they helped more than 20 Little Leagues right here in Long Island, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and New Jersey recover from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy last year. The leagues had their equipment sheds flooded and lost everything. PIFB has also helped communities in Henryville, IN; Joplin, MO; Moore, OK; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; Japan and many others who have had all of their equipment destroyed in natural disasters.

We would like to call upon the Strat-O-Matic community to help us help Pitch In For Baseball restock their warehouse so that they can continue to make sure kids can play ball.

If you are planning to attend Strat-O-Matic Opening Day, we encourage you to bring a piece of new or gently used baseball equipment. For each item donated, you will receive an entry into a drawing for a $100 Strat-O-Matic merchandise credit. Glove donations (their biggest need) will receive two raffle entries.

If you are unable to attend Opening Day but still want to help, please visit our special Strat-O donation page at http://www.active.com/donate/PIFBStrat-O-Matic. For every $15 donation, you will receive an entry into a separate drawing for a $50 Strat-O-Matic merchandise credit.
