A New Strat Baseball Champion is Crowned

            Wayne Cannon of Oklahoma City won the STAR Tournaments’ World Championship in Las Vegas, making him the 18^th different winner in the 21 years that a champion has been crowned at the end of a national tournament tour.

 

            Cannon earned the top prize after compiling a record of 33-14 over three days in competition with 66 other Strat-O-Matic baseball players.

 

            In winning his first world title, Cannon used ace pitcher Johann Santana and a lineup featuring Todd Helton, Eric Chavez, Luis Castillo, Brady Clark and Mark Kotsay.

 

            Cannon swept runner-up Ed Daley of Las Vegas in four games.
