STRAT-O-MATIC AND SEAMHEADS: "TUMBLING DICE" AND REPLAY LEAGUE

Seamheads.com is partnering up with the Strat-O-Matic Game Company to run season replays and serve as Strat’s official podcast.  "Tumbling Dice: The Seamheads.com Strat-O-Matic Show" will launch on Wednesday, September 29 at 9:00 PM Eastern on BlogTalkRadio.com and has already been endorsed by legendary sports broadcaster Bob Costas, who generously donated a sound bite that will serve as the show’s intro and a fantastic story about his childhood experience with Strat-O-Matic.  The show will feature discussions about our 50th anniversary replay league, featured card sets and Strat-O-Matic in general, and we’ll be talking to guests such as Scott Simkus, whose research was instrumental in creating Strat’s Negro League card set.

The 50th anniversary replay league will begin after the World Series and boasts a mixture of all-time great teams such as the 1927 Yankees and 1970 Orioles and very good teams, two of which, the 2001 Diamondbacks and 2005 Astros, will be managed by former major league players who actually played for those teams, Curt Schilling and Morgan Ensberg.  And to represent the full spectrum of Strat-O-Matic’s offerings, Simkus will be running an all-white team with Negro League stars and Hall of Famers Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige added to the roster.  Other participants include: Roy Firestone, Keith Olbermann (MSNBC), Eric Karabell (ESPN), Jim Callis (Baseball America), Tim Cowlishaw (Dallas Morning News and ESPN), Jonathan Mayo (MLB.com), John Hart (MLB Network), Kevin Wheeler (KMOX Radio), noted authors and historians Peter Morris and Craig Wright, Chad Finn (Boston Globe), Jerry Crasnick (ESPN), former major league pitcher Dick Drago, current pitcher and author Dirk Hayhurst, Derrick Goold (St. Louis Post-Dispatch), Paul White (USA TODAY), noted author Peter Golenbock, and hardcore Strat fans Brian Thompson, John Bonno, Jeff Polman and Charles Tripp, among others.
