Lew Burdette won three World Series games against New York to give Milwaukee its only world championship. Burdette was the first starting pitcher since 1920 to win three Series games in one year. This team also features Hank Aaron at his best and strong seasons by the other Milwaukee Hall of Fame players, Eddie Mathews, Red Schoendienst (.310) and Warren Spahn, who won the Cy Young award.
