Full Summary

Boston (93-69, AL East winner): Cy Young finalist Chris Sale (17-8, 2.90) set strikeout records all year and led MLB with 308, while walking only 43. He’s the first pitcher ever to fan 300 while walking fewer than 50 in five straight seasons. Fellow lefty Drew Pomeranz was 17-6 and closer supreme Craig Kimbrel was even more dominant than Sale (5-0, 1.43 ERA, 35 saves, 0.68 WHIP, 16.4 K/9 IP).  RF Mookie Betts, who led the Sox with 24 HR and 26 SB, become the first player since 1930 to accumulate at least four hits, two homers, eight RBIs and a stolen base in the same game. Rookie 3B Rafael Devers came up from the minors for the last two months and led the team’s regulars with .482 slugging. Rookie LF Andrew Benintendi had 20 HR and 20 SB.
