Full Summary

Minnesota (85-77. AL Wild Card): The Twins rebounded from the worst record in baseball to win 26 more games this season under AL Manager of the Year Paul Molitor. 2B Brian Dozier’s 34 HR led nine Twins with at least 10 HR, backed by impressive offense from Miguel Sano (28 HR), Eddie Rosario (.290, 27 HR) and Joe Mauer (.305). Few defenders ever sparkle more than CF Byron Buxton , who added 16 HR (three in one game) and a team-best 29 SB. Ervin Santan (16-10, 3.28 ERA), youngster Jose Berrios (14-8) and closer Brandon Kintzler (41 saves) led the pitching.
