3-Minute Baseball: 1989 Earthquake Series

This week’s 3-Minute Baseball features two cross-bay rivals that squared off in the 1989 World Series: Oakland and San Francisco. Oakland ended up sweeping SF in four games en route to their ninth World Series title, but the series was probably best known for the Loma Prieta Earthquake, which struck just minutes before Game 3 and delayed the series by 10 days. Oakland has not won a championship since 1989.
