3-Minute Baseball: Cubbies Win the Pennant!

This week’s 3-Minute Baseball features the two best teams from the National League in the 1908 baseball season: Chicago and New York. Chicago edged out New York by one game in the regular season standings, finishing with a 99-55 record. The Cubbies went on to defeat Detroit in the World Series in five games, clinching their second title in as many years. As it is well documented, despite coming close a number of times, including seven World Series appearances, the Cubbies have not won a championship since that 1908 season, a draught of over 100 years.
