Opening Day is Back!
The lines of Strat-O-Matic’s most devoted fanatics return to Glen Head, NY, on Feb. 17 as the company’s fabled Opening Day returns for the first time in three years. Appropriately, SOM is ready to make this one of the most dynamic and memorable Opening Days ever.
On hiatus during the pandemic, Opening Day typically attracts hundreds of gamers from across the country and Canada who cannot wait to get their card sets and who treasure the opportunity to share the experience with other Strat fans.
For the first time, you can place these orders online (phone orders still will be accepted, though). Do it this way: During checkout, select “Opening Day” rather than a shipping option. Make sure to select this option ONLY if you are planning to pick up your order at Strat HQ on February 17th.
Alert to Opening Day veterans: As always, callers get an order number at that time. If you place your order online instead, your six digit order number will be in your confirmation email.

- As always, the new cards for the latest season (2022) headline the product list. This time, the set is being printed on heavier card stock(while pandemic-era paper supply lasts) to satisfy persistent customer requests.
- The buzz-worthy Strat-O-Matic Black, the limited-edition collectible set of the 2022 cards printed on heavy, glossy black stock with white lettering.
- Those in line by 11:30am will be entered for a raffle of a Strat-O-Matic Black set, priced at $150. It has been a long custom that those determined to be first in line arrive hours (sometimes pre-dawn!) before SOM’s doors open at noon.
- Hall of Fame induction of six long-time contributors to Strat-O-Matic, its community and its legend.
- A live episode of the “Strat-Mat” humor videos.
Strat-O-Matic is hinting at other surprises.
All in all, this should be among the most exciting Opening Day experiences ever.
