Strat-O-Matic Expands Its Content Creation Role,

Develops Original Projects For Marquee Sports Network

Market Leader In Sports Simulations Will Use Data To Create or Recreate Results from Chicago Cubs Games Of The Past As Well As Other Unique Projects In 2020

GLEN HEAD, N.Y., May 22, 2020—Strat-O-Matic (www.strat-o-matic.com), the market leader in sports simulations, today announced a partnership with The Marquee Sports Network, the broadcast home of the Chicago Cubs, to develop content for a series of Cubs specific shows for 2020. The shows will use the data and simulations from iconic Cubs games of the past to re-imagine what an alternate result would have been, as well as other projects designed to engage fans interest and debate.

“We continue to find new ways to expand our scope of opportunity using the data we have collected throughout our history in unique ways with new partners, and this project with Marquee Sports Network is one of the latest examples,” said Strat-O-Matic President, Adam Richman. “There are no more passionate fans in sports than Cubs fans, and we look forward to helping give them some new and unique looks at the history of the club through this partnership.”

“We are looking forward to bringing these two iconic sports brands, The Chicago Cubs and Strat-O-Matic together to have some fun reinventing history with these simulations,” Marquee Sports Network Mike McCarthy said. “Sports is filled with ‘what if’s, and now we will be able to present to our audience some of the potential answers to those questions.”

The first series of shows in the partnership will be the Ultimate Cubs Lineup. Marquee had 18 players, broadcasters, analysts and fans create the best lineup they could from throughout Cubs history to win one game: eight hitters, a starting pitcher, one reliever, and one bench player. Rick Sutcliffe, Doug Glanville, Carlos Peña, Mark DeRosa, Len Kasper, Jim Deshaies, and others all chose a lineup and MJarquee will play out the tournament to crown the Ultimate Cubs Lineup champion. Additional projects will be announced in the coming weeks.

The partnership with The Marquee Sports Network is the latest in a string of unprecedented success on the business side for Strat-O-Matic, which has also included record sales, and new member signups as well as being selected by People.com as “Best Sports Board Game for Sports Lovers.” The Company has also expanded its content creation business and its simulations of the 2020 MLB season and the 2020 NBA Playoffs have gotten wide coverage and support as well. About Strat-O-Matic

Strat-O-Matic was invented by 11-year-old Hal Richman in his bedroom in Great Neck, N.Y. in 1948 as a result of his frustration with the statistical randomness of other baseball board games. He discovered that the statistical predictability of dice would give his game the realism he craved. Over the next decade, he perfected the game at summer camp and then as a student at Bucknell University. After producing All-Star sets in 1961 and ‘62, he parlayed a $5,000 loan from his father (and made a deal that if it didn’t work out he would work for his father’s insurance company) into the original 1962 Strat-O-Matic Baseball season game. Needless to say, Hal never had to take a job with his father.

Strat-O-Matic, based in Glen Head, NY and on the Internet at www.strat-o-matic.com, manufactures the top selling sports board games and realism/stats sports digital games. The Company publishes baseball, football, basketball and hockey games to play both on and off your computer and mobile screens. “Strat-O” games are known throughout the sports community for their statistical realism and accuracy. The Company has the world’s greatest sports game stat libraries with top-of-the-line seasons dating back to the early 1900’s. At the start of the 2016 MLB season, Strat-O-Matic introduced Baseball Daily, its first product featuring digital player cards that update every day to reflect real life current player performance as the season progresses.

The Company has a loyal celebrity following including a bevy of sports broadcasters such as Bob Costas, Jon Miller and Dan Shulman, former MLB’ers Keith Hernandez, Doug Glanville and Cal Ripken Jr., and sports super fans including Drew Carey, Ben Bernanke, Bryant Gumbel, Spike Lee and Tim Robbins.
