Full Summary

The Wilt Chamberlain-Hal Greer 76ers dominated the regular season again. Oscar Robertson led the NBA in scoring and assists. Dave Bing, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Gus Johnson, Chamberlain and Greer all topped 24 points per game. And a sensational rookie class led by Earl “The Pearl” Monroe and Walt “Clyde the Glide” Frazier deepened rosters throughout the league.

But in the end the prize belonged, once again, to the Boston Celtics of Bill Russell, John Havlicek and Sam Jones, who rebounded from a 3-1 deficit to dispose of Chamberlain and Philadelphia, then beat the West-Baylor Lakers in the finals for the fifth time in eight seasons.
