Full Summary

For the first time in six years, Boston was the NBA champ, this time with Dave Cowens (19.0 ppg, 15.7 rpg) and John Havlicek (22.6 ppg). When young Bob McAdoo led the league in scoring and rookie Ernie DiGregorio led in assists, Buffalo created nearly as much buzz as the Celtics. Detroit had its best team so far with Bob Lanier at the top of his game (22.5 ppg, 13.3 rpg).
