Full Summary

Perfection is possible: Miami is the only team to finish both the regular season (14-0) and the playoffs undefeated. The Dolphins outscored foes 385-171 (No. 1 in scoring and in scoring defense). QB Bob Griese missed half the season and the no-name defense was unrecognizable to most fans. But FB Larry Conska punished defenses (1,117 yds, 5.2 avg) and HB Mercury Morris fled them (5.3 avg, 12 tds). With its new Steel Curtain, Pittsburgh’s defense was about as good as Miami’s. Washington’s Billy Kilmer led the NFL in TD passes and RB Larry Brown led the NFC with 1,216 yards rushing.
