Full Summary

The Yanks trailed the A’s in early September. The Cardinals survived the Giants’ 25-win September. No such tension in the World Series. In the finale of a sweep, Babe Ruth hit three home runs and Lou Gehrig hit his fourth home run in as many games. There were pitching stars, too: Lefty Grove was 24-8 with a 2.58 ERA and Dazzy Vance was even better: 22-10, 2.09. Both led their leagues in strikeouts, too.
